Spring allows you to enjoy outdoor plans in Barcelona, every time you feel more and more like going out for fresh air, cycling and approaching the promenade, the beach, or enjoying the parks of Barcelona, now that the heat is still not so intense.
Barcelona is a city that invites you to stroll, if you have just arrived in the city and you are newly installed or installed in your student flat, there are countless plans that you can make at this time of year.
If you go for a walk around the city these days, you will see that the green areas of Barcelona's large parks are filled with groups of students who gather to enjoy a day of picnic in the shade of the impressive trees in them.
If you want to celebrate your arrival and get to know your student flatmates better, offer them a picnic day at one of the 3 places in Barcelona that we have selected for you.
Our favorite place! It is located in the district of Ciutat Vella, and many years ago was the only public park in Barcelona. There is a picnic area, and many spaces with grass to sit and enjoy the home-cooked food that you have prepared. As a curiosity we tell you that this park has been everything from a settlement of barracks in the early eighteenth century, to headquarters of the universal exhibition of 1888 (when the Arch of Triumph was built), through a military camp. Nowadays, it houses the Parliament of Catalonia and the city's Zoo. It is a meeting place for sports lovers, yoga practitioners, those who celebrate their birthdays outdoors, etc ... a meeting place of cultures and good vibes.
In the upper part of the city, at the opposite end of the “Parc de la Ciutadella”, in the district of Horta-Guinardó is another of the city's great urban parks. It has three clearly differentiated areas: an urban area, which becomes the antechamber of the large space occupied by this green area, a more historical area and, at the highest point, the leafy forest vegetation. In this park there is a picnic area with several viewpoints from which you can see the whole city and you can also find multiple terraces landscaped with pine trees that make it one of the most refreshing and placid green spaces in the city.
The picnic area of Font de Les Planes is located in the “Collserola” park. In this beautiful place you can find tables, barbecues, paelleros and everything you need to make a barbecue with the companions of your student flat in Barcelona, for a price of 10€ for a table of 4 people. If you don't feel like cooking that day, you only have to go to the supermarket to buy what you are going to do on the barbecue and drink, although if the day goes on you have a bar. The picnic area is open all year round and you can arrive by train, as it is one step away from Les Planes station.
Which one is your favourite?
