We opened the fridge in one of our university flats at exam time. Note that there's no time to buy, little more than a bag of shredded cheese and a brick of cream. You probably have a roommate with more options in the fridge and willing to invite, but what is certain is that if something is never lacking in the larder of your student apartment is the handy pasta that has solved so many lunchs!
How to cook Spaghetti with cream cheese:
First, we salted water to a boil and cook the pasta the time indicated on the package. When ready, or al dente, which the Italians say, drain them, but keep a cup of the cooking water.
In a frying pan, brown the garlic (1 minute over medium heat), add the cream and half the reserved water. Add the spaghetti and mix well.
Turn off the heat and add the cheese and the remaining water. Well mixed, a little salt, pepper and oregano and go! Delicious!
Living in a student apartment away from home (and Tupperware mom) does not have to be synonymous with eating poorly. And if finally, the kitchen is not your thing, you can always find in Barcelona, near your shared apartment, lots of places to eat for everyone.
Bon Appetite!!
